Memorial service in Russian Churches for unbaptized infants that passed away

A memorial service for infants that passed away before being baptized was held in Churches in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Barnaul, following a request by the charity “Light in Hands”, which supports parents that lost a newborn during pregnancy or shortly thereafter.
According to figures in the country, one in five pregnancies in Russia ends with the death of the unborn child in the first trimester, during birth or before the infant reaches the age of one.
