The memory of Righteous Jacob of Evia was commemorated on Tuesday, the feast day of the 20th century saint, at the Holy Monastery of St. David on the large same-named island of Evia.
On the eve of the feast day, the Metropolitan of Halkida, His Eminence Chrysostomos, welcomed the Metropolitan of Karystia & Skyros, His Eminence Seraphim, and the Bishop of Oreon, His Grace Filotheos, the First Secretary of the Holy Synod of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece, who officiated at a Great Festal Vesper, where he preached the Gospel and recounted the life, works and miracles of the honored saint.
