Metropolitan Chrysostom of Dabar-Bosnia hospitalized after being tested positive for coronavirus

His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostom of Dabar-Bosnia, was admitted to the Clinical Hospital Center “Dr Dragisa Misovic” in Belgrade on Friday evening due to the positive result of testing for the corona virus, it was announced on the website of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

No details were released about his health. More information will be known tomorrow. Metropolitan Chrysostom of Dabar-Bosnia, as the oldest Metropolitan of the Serbian Orthodox Church, was temporarily appointed head of the Serbian Orthodox Church after the repose of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej on November 20.

Metropolitan Chrysostom will be the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church until the election of a new patriarch, who, according to the Constitution of the Serbian Orthodox Church, should be elected within three months from the death of his predecessor.

The official statement of the Serbian Orthodox Church reads:

“His Eminence Metropolitan Hrizostom of Dabar-Bosnia, Locum Tenens of the Serbian Church Patriarchal Throne, due to a positive result of testing for COVID-19, was admitted to the Clinical Hospital Center “Dr Dragisa Misovic” in Belgrade in the evening on December 4, 2020.”
