The Metropolitan of Arta, in the country’s northwest, His Eminence Kallinikos, this week gave an interview to the online radio station Pemptousia.fm, where he spoke on the life and works of 16th century St. Maximus the Greek.
St. Maximus a monk, scholar and linguist, whose principal role in the translation of the Scriptures and philosophical–theological literature into Russian disseminated Byzantine culture throughout Russia.
Pemptousia will also host the first digital archontariki with the Metropolitan of Patras, His Eminence Chrysostomos, on Saturday, Jan. 23, and from 19.00 to 21.00 Athens time.
His Eminence will speak on the subject of “The role of the Clergy in the Armed Struggle of 1821”, the Greek War of Independence.
Finally, more than 50,000 users viewed an online synaxis with the Elder Archimandrite Ephraim, the abbot of the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopedi, with young people — which was hosted on Thursday by the online platform Pemptousia.
