The Metropolitan of Corfu, His Eminence Nektarios, addressed a letter to Athens medical school professor Eleni Yiamarellou, a lecturer in pathology and infectious diseases, thanking her for what he called her courage in publicly speaking about her partaking in the Holy Communion.
In the letter, His Eminence cites the emotion he felt from the professor’s explanation of a boundary between faith and science, as well as her defense of the experience of two millennia of the Holy Eucharist.
