The Metropolitan of France, His Eminence Emmanuel, arrived on the monastic community of Mount Athos in northern Greece over the weekend, and specifically at the Holy Monastery of Xenophontos.
With the acquiescence of the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His Eminence was welcomed by the Elder Archimandrite Alexios, the Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Xenophontos, and later attended the ordination of deacon Georgios Xenofontinou.
In his address, the Metropolitan of France conveyed the blessing of His All Holiness Bartholomew and spoke on the Holy Sacrament of Ordination to the Priesthood, based on the writings of the Church fathers.
