The Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople’s newly enthroned Metropolitan of Imvros and Tenedos, His Eminence Kirillos, referred to a lonesome Easter experienced this year by the remaining Greek Orthodox faithful on the two islands in the northeast Aegean, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The measures imposed in Turkey, which formally possessed the two isles after 1923, prevented hundreds of people from Greece and other countries from returning to the native homeland.
