Metropolitan of Piraeus, His Eminence Seraphim, clarified his personal position, as he said, regarding the matter of autocephaly for the Ukrainian Church and the stance he maintained during Saturday’s extraordinary session of the Greek Church’s hierarchs.
In a letter, Seraphim reiterated that he, at no time, accepted the proposal by Archbishop of Athens and All Greece in favor of recognition, while adding, however, that he will never take any action that endangers the unity of the Church of Greece’s hierarchy.
