The Metropolitan of Spain and Portugal, His Eminence Polykarpos, on Sunday concelebrated the Divine Liturgy on the occasion of feast day of St. Paraskevi, the Righteous Martyr of Rome, during a service in the southern Greece coastal city of Nafpaktos, his home town.
The Metropolitan Nafpaktos, His Eminence Ierotheos, co-officiated.
In a sermon, Metropolitan Polykarpos expanded on the life and martyrdom of St. Paraskevi.
His Eminence also referred to the desecration of Hagia Sophia, saying the faithful should continue to visit the greatest of all cathedrals of eastern Christendom, venerating its walls, as they enclose holy relics.
