The Metropolitan of Volokolamsk, His Eminence Hilarion, this week received the religious affairs councilor of the Turkish embassy in Moscow, Omer Farouk Savouran.
In greeting the Turkish diplomat, Metropolitan Hilarion, who heads the Moscow Patriarchate’s external Church relations department, referred to the significance in ties between the Russian Church and Turkey’s state-run directorate of religious affairs, within the framework of safeguarding religious freedoms in Turkey.
