For the purpose of providing social care to persons in need, Metropolitan Vladimir blessed the inauguration of a social and missionary centre on the premises of the Ascension Cathedral in Chisinau.
The centre is dedicated to the Icon of the Theotokos the Joy of all who sorrow, and intends to support persons from socially vulnerable families, lonely aged persons, persons who do not have a place to live, families with many children. Another activity direction of the centre is support of harmonious development and social integration of children and youth who come from the vulnerable environments.
The centre will be coordinated by Sergiu Crudu, Chairman of the SYNODAL Sector of Social Activity and Charity, and will provide a wide range of cultural, educative, and charitable activities, including the provision of clothes, social canteen, activities with children and youth, biblical studies, conferences, etc. The activities will be implemented by members of the group of volunteers “Father Sofian Boghiu”.
