Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and Moldova celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Resurrection of the Lord in Jerusalem
The arch-pastor of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, is presently conducting a group of Moldovan pilgrims visiting the Holy Land.
The metropolitan is accompanied by Bishop Anatolie of Cahul and Comrat, Vicar Bishop Ioan of Soroca, numerous clergy and laity.
Thursday, 12 December 2019, the group of pilgrims were received by His Beatitude Theophylos, Patriarch of Jerusalem. Metropolitan Vladimir presented Patriarch Theophylos with an icon of the Theotokos, while His Beatitude made multiple spiritual presents to the metropolitan and to the group of Moldovan pilgrims.
On the night of 14-15 December, the 26th Sunday after Pentecost, Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and Moldova conducted the celebration of the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Resurrection of Christ. Concelebrating to the metropolitan were His Eminence Filomenos, Archbishop of Pelsa, His Grace Anatolie, Bishop of Cahul and Comrat, His Grace Ioan, Bishop of Soroca, Vicar of the Moldovan Metropolis, and numerous priests and dieacons.
Numerous members of the group of pilgrims communed with the Holy Sacraments during the Divine Service.
The Church of the Resurrection of Christ in the Holy Land is the most important monument of Christianity, and is a much desired destination of pilgrimage.
This ecclesiastical monument is placed in front of the Holy Tomb, and is situated in the centre of a larger church complex. The Church of the Resurrection of Christ is the main cathedral of the Orthodox Patriarchy of Jerusalem.
