The 28th Sunday after the Pentecost: Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and Moldova conducted the celebration of the Divine Liturgy in the Metropolitan Cathedral in Chisinau.
During the Liturgy, the arch-pastor and the concelebrating liturgical community glorified our Lord Jesus Christ and the saints celebrated on this day: Holy Forefathers, Prophet Aggaeus (5th c. B.C.), Venerable Sofia of Suzdal (1542), Martyr Marinus of Rome (283).
Protodeacon Oleg Pascal read out the Sunday Gospel Reading (Luke 14: 16-24), on the Parable of those invited to the dinner.
After the Holy Communion, the praying congregation listened to an pastoral message, delivered, with the blessing of the metropolitan, by archpriest Petru Boian.
Father Petru mentioned, inter alia, “This dinner is the Church of Christ. We are al invited to participate in this feast, when we are called to take part in church services, especially in the Divine Liturgy, in the Holy Communion with the Body and Blood of Christ. We refuse sometimes to participate, and we do not come to church services, invoking our day-to-day cares”.
