Military chapel consecrated in within the “Banjica” Barracks
A new military chapel of Holy King Stefan of Dechani was consecrated in the Military Command of the 250th Air Defense Missile Brigade within the “Banjica” Barracks in Belgrade.
With the blessing of the Serbian Patriarch Irinej, His Grace Bishop Stefan of Remesiana, Vicar Bishop of Patriarch Irinej, officiated the great consecration of the chapel. Military chaplains concelebrated to the Bishop.
After the rite of consecration of the chapel, the first Divine Liturgy was served and also the slava loaf was blessed on the occasion of the Patron Saint-day of the Missile Brigade. The rite of the consecration and of the Hierarchal Liturgy was attended by the Chief of the Air Staff Major General Dusko Zarkovic, Commander of the 250th AFMB Colonel Tiosav Jankovic, Dr. Marko Nikolic from the Office for Cooperation with Churches and Religious Communities, representatives of units situated in the “Banjica” barracks, as well as by many members of the Missile Brigade.
During the visit to the memorial room, the Bishop showed interest in the heroic history of the Missile Brigade during the NATO aggression upon Serbia in 1999.
