The Metropolitan of Corfu, Paxoi and the Diapontian Isles, His Eminence Nektarios, on Tuesday welcomed the Moscow Patriarchate’s Metropolitan of Yekaterinburg, His Eminence Kirill, at the Holy Metropolis’ bishopric.
The two Church hierarchs are connected by the bonds for friendly for many years, with His Eminence Kirill again arriving on the Ionian island as a pilgrim.
According to reports, both Metropolitans discussed the contentious issue of the granting of the Tomos of autocephaly for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, while focusing on the need for a restoration of unity ahead of the Christmas holiday.
