Hellenism in Australia today celebrates the feast day of Macarius the Great of Egypt, which also marks the name day of the Archbishop of Australia, His Eminence Makarios, as numerous Greek Orthodox faithful on the island continent extended their best wishes to the Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church in the country.
The Cretan-born Archbishop has traveled around the vast country extensively since his enthronement in 2019, visiting Orthodox parishes, Greek-Australian community and institutions.
