On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, representatives from the National Hellenic Museum visited Smyser Elementary School in Chicago, Illinois to bring educational programming to students and take learning beyond the museum walls.
The mission of the museum is to share the legacy of Hellenism and to preserve the stories and honor the contributions to the United States of Greek immigrants and Americans of Greek heritage. In addition to hosting museum visits and field trips, the museum offers off-site educational programs that bring captivating and interactive lessons on Greek American history, art, culture, and immigrant experiences directly to students’ locations.
