Amid an atmosphere of spiritual joy and emotion, the celebrating parish of St. Nicholas in Canberra unveiled a new chapter for the Greek Orthodox Church in Australia’s Capital Territory.
Before a large congregation, which reserved a heartfelt welcome for Archbishop of Australia, His Eminence Makarios, the hierarch announced the establishment of a new Archdiocese district in Australia’s capital, with Archimandrite Prochoros Anastasiadis appointed to assume the the duties of the district.
