An icon of the Old Testament Holy Trinity, donated to the Holy Trinity church in Bansko was consecrated yesterday, Pentecost.
The valuable icon was painted by monks from Docheiariou monastery on Mount Athos in Greece, where the original of the icon, painted in 1425 by Andrei Rublev is kept. The icon is among the most famous in the entire Christian Orthodox world.
When travelling to Athos with friends form Bansko, Borislav Lazarov from Sofia decided that the Holy Trinity church in Bansko deserves to have an icon such as this, and they became principal benefactors.
