One year since repose of Elder Ephraim of Arizona

Tuesday marks the one-year anniversary of the repose in the Lord of Elder Ephraim of Arizona.
The Elder Ephraim left behind a prolific spiritual and monastic legacy in North America — being a pioneer of Orthodox monasticism on the continent by helping establish numerous monasteries in the United States and Canada, and creating a spiritual “oasis” and venerable Orthodox Christian outpost in the barren Sonora Desert of Arizona.
Ephraim established 19 monasteries in North America, 17 in the US and two in Canada, both for men and women, all of which are under the jurisdiction of the Greek Orthodox Archdioceses of America and Canada.
The reposed Elder Ephraim was a spiritual offspring of St. Joseph the Hesychast.
A feature is posted today on the pages of the Orthodoxia news agency, on the life, works and ministry of the Elder Ephraim of Arizona.
