His Beatitude John X, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East of the Greek Orthodox Church, emphasized the antique Christian presence in Syria and the pioneer role of the Church of Antioch. The Patriarch spoke during the inauguration ceremony of Dr. Farzat Ayoub University Hospital in Al-Hawash Private University, Wadi al Nassara.

The event was held among official, ecclesial, and popular attendance from Wadi al Nassara and the surroundings, with the participation of His Holiness Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East and Supreme Head of the Universal Syriac Orthodox Church and His Beatitude Youssef Al-Absi, Patriarch of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church of Antioch, Alexandria, and Jerusalem. Many bishops and priests were present as well.
