On December 29, 2020, His Beatitude John X, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, received His Excellency Ambassador Bassam Al-Sabbagh, the new permanent representative of Syria to the United Nations at the Patriarchate in Damascus. His Beatitude extended wishes to the new Ambassador for success as head of the Syrian delegation of Representatives to the United Nations.
