The Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, His Most Divine Beatitude Theodoros II, on Friday has, according to confirmed reports, commemorated the name of the Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine, His Beatitude Epiphanius, the Primate of the autocephalous Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The commemoration came during a celebratory Patriarchal Divine Liturgy at the Archangels Greek Orthodox Cathedral, in the El Daher district of Cairo, the Egyptian capital.

A text of recognition was read out by the Metropolitan of Guinea, His Eminence Georgios.

While officiating at the Patriarchal Divine Liturgy, His Most Divine Beatitude Theodoros noted that “…Today, the biggest Arab-speaking Greek Orthodox parish of the Patriarchate of Alexandria is celebrating the Great Archangels in Cairo’s El Daher district, and I feel a great sense of gratitude for their love and devotion to the Patriarchate of Alexandria… The Archangels are a symbol of protection of man, as every human being that comes into the world is accompanied by a guardian angel before they bear witness to Christ.”
