Patriarch of All Romania on message emanating from Sunday of the Prodigal Son
The Patriarch of All Romania, His Beatitude Daniel, referred to a crisis of unbridled personal freedom, as he said, a result of man’s alienation from God, speaking on the occasion of the Sunday of the Prodigal Son.
February 16 marked the second Sunday of a three-week period prior to the commencement of Great Lent.
The Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church recounted how the son desired his own personal liberty at all costs, and as a result, fled from the home of his father, something echoed by modern man – who under the pretense of “maturity and authority”, distances himself from God.
