His Beatitude referred to a special day for the Romanian people, as St. Andrew is the first pastoral father of the Romanian nation and the patron saint of the country.

The Patriarch referred to the life and ministry of Andrew, the First-Called Apostle, reminding that the saint preached the Gospel in the Black Sea region and ancient Scythia, considered an ancestral home of modern-day Romanians.
