The feast of the Twelve Apostles was celebrated with splendour, devotion and in a church full of people, at the Holy Metropolitan Church of Saint Paraskevi, on Friday, June 30, 2023, during which His Eminence Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi celebrated his name day.
On the eve of the feast, on Thursday evening, the Vespers service and the Matins were performed with the participation of the Priests and the Deacon of the Holy Metropolis as well as Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Fr. Georgios Ladoukakis. In the morning, the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was performed, along with the blessing of the five loaves (Artoklasia).
Metropolitan Maximos of Selyvria attended the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, as a representative of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, as well as Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, Metropolitan Stephanos of Kallioupolis, Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, Metropolitan Andreas of Forty Churches, and Bishops Kassianos of Arabissos, and Paisios of Xanthoupolis, as well as Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and other devout Christians.
After the end of the Divine Liturgy, a luncheon was held in the courtyard of the surrounding Holy Metropolitan Church of Saint Paraskevi in Therapia (Tarabya).
