Members of the permanent Holy Synod of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece will convene on Tuesday and Wednesday, the last session of the 163rd synodical period.
The new ecclesiastical year begins on Sept. 1.
This week’s session comes amid a crucial period for the Church of Greece, given the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, as well as the provocations and insults directed against Christianity, and especially Orthodoxy, by the now unabashedly Islamist Erdogan regime in neighboring Turkey.
