Perth: St Andrew’s Grammar community shows heartwarming generosity
As we approach the festive season, the Saint Andrew’s Grammar community has once again demonstrated incredible compassion and generosity through their contributions to the 2024 Christmas Appeal. Families generously donated toys for children at Perth Children’s Hospital and non-perishable items for the homeless, embodying the true spirit of giving.
Throughout the collection period, our dedicated Kindness Ambassadors, HOPE club members and Student Councillors took on the important role of encouraging their peers to participate. They visited classrooms daily, shared inspiring messages, and presented thought-provoking facts about homelessness in Perth.
Their commitment to raising awareness and fostering empathy among students was truly commendable. The response from our families was overwhelming, with a large number of toys and food items donated. This outpouring of support highlights the strong sense of community spirit that defines St Andrew’s Grammar. Every contribution will go towards bringing joy and comfort to those in need this Christmas, including homeless individuals and children facing health challenges.
His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Perth, on behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, very positively recognised this selfless act and the volume of the food and toys that were donated from our families.
The school Principal, Mr Monaghan, commented “Our children learn every day about being a good person and today they showed this with their complete sympathies for those in need. We as a school are very proud indeed. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to this meaningful initiative. Your generosity will make a real difference in the lives of others, spreading hope and happiness this festive season.”
