Preservation work on renowned mosaic icon of the Panaghia Pammakaristos

A group of academics from Athens arrived at the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople this week to assist in efforts to preserve and restore the renowned mosaic icon of the Panaghia Pammakaristos, which is dated to the late Byzantine era.
