In the distinguished presence of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and His Beatitude Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, a significant ceremony took place at the University of Athens. The occasion marked the awarding of the title of Professor Emeritus to Professor Vlassios Ioannis Feidas, a revered member of the Theological School faculty

The ceremony drew the attendance of numerous dignitaries, including hierarchs from Greece and abroad, academics, clergy, and members of the laity. Following an address by Professor Gerasimos Siasos, the Rector of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Associate Professor Ioannis Ant. Panagiotopoulos presented an overview of Professor Feidas’s illustrious contributions and personality.

Subsequently, Professor Emmanuel Karageorgoudis, the Dean of the Theological School, read the Resolution and bestowed the honorary parchment upon Professor Feidas. In recognition of their support, an honorary plaque was also presented to Rector Siasos.

The highlight of the ceremony was Professor Feidas’s address, titled “The Modern Ecumenical Perspective of the Multi-Ethnic Orthodox Diaspora.” His insightful discourse captivated the audience, shedding light on contemporary challenges and opportunities within the Orthodox community.
