The Archdiocese of Athens and the Youth and Family Foundation will host the online program “Perasma”, with the Mother Filothei, the Abbess of the Panaghia Vryoulon Holy Sanctuary, located due north of Athens, recounting the life, works and martyrdom of St. Filothei the Athenian.
The program will be posted on Monday, Feb. 15, at 9 p.m. Athens time.
The program was filmed at the chapel of St. Andrew, off Amerikis square in central Athens, which previously served as the catholicos, or main cathedral, of a glebe established in the 16th century by the saint – and where she achieved the crown of martyrdom at the hands of the Ottoman Turks.
