The funeral service for the reposed Metropolitan of Italy and Melitis, Gennadios, was held on Wednesday morning at the history St. George dei Greci cathedral in Venice, followed by interment at Venice’s Greek Orthodox cemetery.
The Metropolitan’s body first lay in state at the chapel of the Santi Giovanni e Paolo Hospital in Venice.
An exodios funeral service was officiated by the appointed Patriarchal commissioner for the Metropolis of Italy, His Eminence Polykarpos, the Metropolitan of Spain and Portugal.
