Return of rare manuscript to Eikosifinissa Holy Convent set for 2021
A rare Greek-language manuscript belonging to the Theotokos Eikosifinissa Holy Convent in the mountainous Paggaio district of northern Greece, which was taken from the monastery by Bulgarian troops more than a century ago, is set to be returned.

The heirloom is one of the oldest complete manuscripts of the New Testament, dating from the late 10th to early 11th centuries.

Following initiatives by the Ecumenical Patriarchate and His All-Holiness Bartholomew, the Morgan Library & Museum in New York City will return the manuscript to the Ecumenical Patriarch during his coming visit to the United States in the autumn of 2021.
