Romanian Church proposes events to honor those who fell to topple communist dictatorship in 1989
Members of the Romanian Orthodox Church’s Holy Synod convened in Bucharest on Monday, with Church hierarchs, among others, proposing a series of events on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the fall of a dour communist regime in the country.
The aim is to honor those who sacrificed their life in December 1989, during protests in the country that toppled the Ceausescu dictatorship.
