Romanian Patriarchate expresses solidarity with Albanians affected by earthquake
At least fifteen people have died and 600 people have been injured after a powerful earthquake hit Albania in the early hours of Tuesday, causing damage along the country’s Adriatic coastline and in the capital, Tirana. Several buildings collapsed, burying residents in the rubble.
The Press Office of the Romanian Patriarchate released a statement on Tuesday urging for solidarity with the Albanian people and calling on people of good will to gather money for those in suffering and left without a shelter.

As a sign of sincere compassion for all those affected by the earthquake that took place today, November 26, 2019, in Albania, the Romanian Patriarchate sends to the Albanian Orthodox Church and to the entire Albanian people a message of solidarity from the clergy and the faithful of the Romanian Orthodox Church.
In the face of the tragedy caused by the earthquake that injured hundreds of people, ending many lives and causing great material damage, we pray to God for the rest of the souls of the deceased and for the recovery of the wounded.
