A new center offering support and care to young mothers addicted to alcohol or narcotics was opened by the Russian Orthodox Church in the southwestern Russian city of Voronezh.
The center offers a one-year rehabilitation and detox program, overseen by psychologists and addiction specialists.
The Church program is considered as unique in Russia, as it combines addiction recovery with effective day-to-day practices, with an emphasis on reconnecting mothers with their offspring.
