The Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, His Holiness Kirill, expressed his condolences to the families of five victims of a fire at the St. George Hospital in St. Petersburg — as well as his best wishes for a speedy recovering to the injured.
The deadly accident occurred on Tuesday morning in the hospital’s intensive care unit, with authorities pointing to a short-circuit in a respirator as the cause of the blaze. Patients suffering from Covid-19 were being treated in the unit.
