Russian Patriarch Kirill extends condolences to Austrian Chancellor in wake of Monday’s terror attack

The Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, His Holiness Kirill, this week conveyed His and the Russian Church’s condolences to Austrian Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz over a terrorist attack in Vienna on Monday, which resulted in the death of four victims and the serious injury of several others.

In a letter, His Holiness notes that “…I am deeply grieved over the killing and wounding of peaceful people, as a result of a series of attacks which have happened in various places in Vienna, including near the building of the synagogue.

Sharing the pain of the tragedy with the Austrian people, I ask you to convey to relatives and loved ones of the victims my words of support and my wishes of a speedy recovery to all those who have been affected. May Merciful God give strength to those who have been touched by this terrible disaster and send peace and consolation to people’s hearts.”
