Today is Renewal Tuesday, the second day after Holy and Great Easter Sunday.
The Church today also commemorates Sts. Raphael, Nicholas, Irene, and the Other Newly-revealed Martyrs of Lesbos, in the eastern Aegean. The trio achieved the crown of martyrdom 10 years after the fall of Constantinople, at the hands of Moslem pirates.
The larger parts of the holy relics of the three neo-martyrs are today preserved at the Holy Monastery of St. Raphael, in the Thermi township on Lesbos.
