Serbian Patriarch receives visiting Metropolitan of Volokolamsk Hilarion

The Serbian Patriarch, His Holiness Irinej, on Monday received His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade.
Metropolitan Hilarion is also the chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations.

Discussions touched on the overall situation in Orthodoxy today, as well as the very timely issue regarding what the Orthodox Church in Montenegro charges is legislative persecution by the government in the small Adriatic country.

Metropolitan Hilarion will also visit the St. Savva Cathedral in Belgrade and speak before an assembly at the University of Belgrade’s school of theology.
