For many years, the sisters of St. Elisabeth Convent in Minsk have traveled across Europe and America at Christmas time, selling their handmade items at Christmas markets and sharing the joy of the Nativity with all people.

Their unique icons and hand-painted icons drew the attention of many people who had never heard of Orthodoxy before, and the sisters were always glad to speak with people on matters of faith and spirituality.

“Our goal at these Christmas markets is to bring Christ and His Gospel to people and share the Joy of Nativity of Jesus with as many people as possible. The items that we sell become the transmitters of love and joy,” the sisters write.

Read the story of how an encounter with the sisters completely changed the life of one man and brought him to holy Orthodoxy on the monastery’s website.

This year, due to COVID restrictions, the sisters are unable to personally sell their items throughout the world. Instead, the monastery has launched its Online Christmas Market.

The monastery reports: “We offer a wide selection of crafts, icons, ornaments, toys, wood products, ceramics, glass, nativity sets, and much more. Every piece is unique and is made with love and prayer. This is your chance to buy the perfect gift to share the joy of Christmas with your friends and family.”

“By buying our handmade items, you support our ministries and charitable projects for the benefit of the disadvantaged, the sick and the elderly in Belarus.”
