St. Nicholas Orthodox Church to host ‘Something Russian’ festival Oct. 1-2 in Mogadore, Ohio
The St. Nicholas Orthodox Church will host its annual “Something Russian” festival from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Oct. 1 and 2.
The festival draws more than 5,000 visitors each year and features Russian food, music, dance and art. Proceeds from the festival benefit St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, outreach programs and missions locally and abroad.
Traditional Russian lunches and dinners will be served at the church social hall. Take-out is also available. The festival also offers a tearoom featuring authentic imported teas. Additional specialty dishes and baked goods will be available for purchase.
Festival entertainment includes afternoon performances by the St. Nicholas Balalaika Orchestra and evening performances by the St. Nicholas Russian Youth Dancers in the cultural tent. A selection of Russian and Ukrainian gift items and religious gifts will be available for purchase.
During the festival, parishioners offer guided tours of the church and answer questions about the Orthodox Christian faith.
