Urgent and even stricter measures to curb exposure and the spread of the Covid-19 virus in the greater Athens and Thessaloniki areas are scheduled to be implemented this week in Greece, given a recent and worrying spike in the number of acute cases being treated in hospital ICUs.
In a related development, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday presented his visiting counterpart, Greek Premier Kyriakos Mitsotakis, with an inhalant medicine that Israeli researchers say combats the coronvirus.
Speaking at a joint press conference, Netanyahu referred to a miracle drug, with both leaders agreeing that Greek hospitals will participate in clinical trials.
Athens and Jerusalem also agreed to boost tourism cooperation.
