Sunday of Orthodoxy on March 8

Sunday, March 8, marks the Sunday of Orthodoxy, commemorating the restoration of the Holy Icons in 843 by the widow Empress Theodora, together with the Patriarch Methodius

This ever-memorable monarch venerated the icon of the Mother of God in the presence of Patriarch Methodius and other confessors and righteous men.

A synodical and con-celebratory Divine Liturgy will be officiated on Sunday at the Athens Metropolitan Cathedral by the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos.
