Yesterday, 03 March, Rev Fr Chrysostom Koolya served the Divine Liturgy at Holy Resurrection Cathedral – Jinja assisted by Hierodeacon Moses Ssekubunga to observe the Sunday of the Prodigal Son, third Sunday before the Great Lent starts.
Drawing reference from the day’s Gospel (Luke 15:11-32), the Vicar General urged the Orthodox Christians to consider spiritual check-up through the Mystery of Holy Confession during this Pre-Lenten period in order to seek forgiveness and strengthen relationship with God during the course of fasting before the Holy Resurrection of our Lord.
He added that no one should consider themselves having unforgivable sins because God’s love is unconditional and thus He forgives the repented sinners, as shown in the the illustrative parable.
