SUPRISE PASTORAL VISIT TO THE POOR VILLAGE COMMUNITY OF NAMADHI

Yesterday, 14 January, during the celebration of the leave-taking of Theophany, His Grace Silvestros paid a surprise visit to the almost- abandoned community of St Barbara – Namadhi in Mayuge district. The bishop carried with him the Holy Water consecrated on 6 January during the Theophany service _ and blessed the faithfuls who attended, and the sick people he visited around the village.
The community, found at the extreme ends of lake Victoria, was stricken with a floods last year, leaving the roads impassable and the school in a sorry state.
We are currently working with authorities to restore normality in the area.
