The Church today venerates the memory of the Righteous Martyr Febronia, as well as the martyr Orentius and his six brothers, all soldiers in the Roman Army.
They were cashiered for declaring themselves as Christians – suffering martyrdom during the persecutions of Roman co-Emperor Maximian. Today is also the feast day of St. Dionysius, the founder of the Dionysiou Monastery on Mt. Athos. You can read more on the pages of the diakonima.gr site.
