In an atmosphere of joy and emotion, on Thursday, November 24, at the Archbishop’s Palace of the Church of Crete, in Heraklion, the Confirmation of His Grace Bishop Methodios of Knossos took place, as provided by the Church Order.
The service was presided over by His Eminence Archbishop Evgenios of Crete, who wished warm greetings to His Grace Bishop Methodios and expressed the request to walk with faith and devotion to our Holy Church and the Sacred Traditions.
Then, His Grace Bishop Methodios responded to His Eminence, who once again expressed his gratitude to God, to the Holy Eparchial Synod of the Church of Crete and especially to His Eminence Archbishop Evgenios of Crete, for the love and trust he showed in his person, promising that he will work with all his strength and from this new position for the good of the local Church.
It was a moving moment when the Archbishop of Crete asked Archbishop Irenaios to give his blessing to Bishop Methodios, who for a number of years worked with him as his Protocyncellus.
In addition to the workers in the Offices of the Holy Archdiocese of Crete – clergy and laity – and a delegation of students from the Patriarchal High Ecclesiastical Academy of Crete, were also present for the confirmation service.
