His Eminence Metropolitan Makarios of Nairobi travelled to Nyeri and Mt. Kenya Diocese where he met His Grace Bishop Panaretos Kykkotis the host of the OCYAK (Orthodox Christian Youth Association of Kenya) youth seminar and national camp that is taking place this weekend and His Grace Bishop Marcos Theodosi of Kisumu. The theme of the Youth Seminar is “the role of the Youth and Church in addressing climate change”.
The three hierarchs welcomed the youths from around the country as they gathered for this special seminar. It was not an easy task to bring all the participants together, however, with the blessing of God, over 500 people participated in the official opening service. The seminar started with the service of the Great Vespers and continued with the speeches from the Chairman of OCYAK, Mr. James Mwaura who welcomed the Holy Hierarchs, priests, and guests from Equity Bank, NCCK.
