The Sacrament of Holy Unction for the Georgian faithful of the Metropolis of Chalcedon
As we travel through the last week of Holy and Great Lent and being at the door step of the propylaea of Holy and Great Week, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Chalcedon, with the blessing of the local Shepherd, His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, the sacrament of the Holy Unction was conducted for the Georgian faithful who reside in Chalcedon.
The sacrament was performed in the Georgian language by Archimandrite of the Ecumenical Throne Father Ilias Jinjolava, Proistamenos of the Georgian-speaking Community of Constantinople, with the participation of many believers from the City of Constantinople and the wider region of Chalcedon.
At the end of the holy sacrament, the Protosyncellus of the Holy Metropolis of Chalcedon, Archimandrite Father Evgenios Karatzas, welcomed Fr. Ilias and conveyed the wishes and blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Emmanuel ahead of the Paschal Feast Day.
